Common Signs Your AC Needs Repair
Is Your Air Conditioner Trying To Tell You Something?
Your air conditioner often shows warning signs before a complete breakdown. Recognizing these issues early can help prevent larger repairs, improve efficiency, and keep your Forney, TX home comfortable.
Runs Constantly but Never Reaches the Set Temperature
When the system runs for hours without hitting the thermostat, it’s usually undersized, low on refrigerant, or losing efficiency to dirty coils and restricted airflow. We figure out which combination is driving it and fix all of them, not just the easiest one.
Air Conditioner Is Making Strange Sounds
Grinding, buzzing, clicking, or rattling sounds are not normal AC behavior. These noises may point to loose parts, worn components, or electrical issues that need professional attention before they lead to larger repairs.
Your Home Feels Humid
Your air conditioner helps control both temperature and humidity inside your home. If rooms feel damp or uncomfortable while your AC runs, your system may not be removing moisture properly.
Energy Bills Are Increasing
A sudden rise in cooling costs can mean your AC is working harder than it should. Dirty components, airflow problems, aging parts, or reduced efficiency can cause your system to use more energy.

Dual-Fuel Systems
A dual-fuel system pairs a heat pump with a gas furnace and lets the thermostat pick the more economical fuel as the weather changes. Forney, TX runs heavy on electric cooling all summer with the occasional hard winter dip, and a hybrid adapts in real time to trim your annual utility spend without you touching a thing.

Packaged Air Conditioning Units
Everything in one box. Packaged units house the compressor, evaporator, and condenser in a single outdoor cabinet, which makes them the right call for Forney, TX homes without attic space or room for an indoor split. We install, service, and repair them with full attention to airflow and refrigerant charge.

Heat Pumps
One system, two jobs. It cools in summer and heats in winter by moving energy instead of generating it, which makes it far more efficient than a separate AC and furnace. We install air-source, hybrid, and high-efficiency heat pumps and service existing units with refrigerant checks, defrost-cycle inspections, and coil cleaning.
Get an estimateHow Does an AC Repair Work
At Lexany’s Heating & AC, we believe homeowners deserve to understand what is happening with their system.
Inspect Your AC System
Our team begins with a complete inspection of your air conditioner, checking key components, system performance, airflow, and possible causes behind the issue. We take the time to understand the problem before recommending any repairs.
Explain What We Find
After the inspection, we explain what is happening with your AC system, why the issue occurred, and what options are available. You will know what needs attention before any repair work begins.
Recommend the Right Solution
Not every AC problem requires a replacement. We focus on finding the solution that makes sense for your system, whether that means a repair, a maintenance recommendation, or discussing replacement options when necessary.
Restore Your Home’s Comfort
Once you approve the repair, we work to restore reliable cooling and help your AC system perform properly again. Our goal is to provide a repair experience built around comfort, communication, and trust.
These come straight from our Google Business Profile and update automatically, so each one is a real Forney homeowner. Plenty of them mention Gustavo by name for showing up the same day and quoting a fair, honest price.
Is your AC problem fixable?
Repair or Replace Your Air Conditioner?
Not every AC problem requires a replacement. If your system is newer or the issue is limited to a single component, a proper repair can often restore performance and extend its life. Our goal is always to repair your system when it makes sense.
An older system may reach a point where repeated repairs no longer make financial sense. If your AC is 15–20 years old, breaks down often, or has a major component failure, replacing it may provide better long-term value.
Clear Answers Before Any Repair
We take the time to explain what is happening with your AC system, what caused the issue, and what options are available. You will have the information you need before deciding on any repair.
Keeping Your Comfort the Priority
Our goal is to restore reliable cooling while making the repair process simple and stress-free. We focus on solutions that fit your home, not unnecessary services.
AC Repairs by Forney, TX Season
How Forney's seasons wear your AC down.
Each season puts a different stress on the system. Knowing the pattern helps you stay ahead with timely tune-ups. No contract, no membership.
Spring
March–May brings the highest humidity (peaking ~76% in May) plus pollen that clogs filters and coats coils. The best window for a pre-summer tune-up.
Summer
June–August pushes systems to the limit. Capacitors fail, borderline refrigerant turns critical, and skipped maintenance shows up at the worst time.
Fall
September–October brings relief as highs drop to the mid-70s. The second smart maintenance window: flush summer buildup, recheck refrigerant.
Winter
January lows near 38°, sometimes below 24°. Idle outdoor units still face freeze risk; a quick spring start-up check pays off.

What Forney, TX homeowners ask us about AC repair.
How much does AC repair cost in Forney, TX?
Air conditioning repair in Forney, TX is priced per job, depending on the part and system. You get a clear, itemized quote up front, and the price you approve is the price you pay, with no surprise add-ons. Our local service call fee is a flat $75, and regular tune-ups help prevent costly repairs.
Should I repair or replace my AC?
If your system is over 12 years old, or the repair cost is more than half the price of a new system, replacement is usually the smarter choice. We diagnose first and walk you through both options in writing before you decide.
How quickly can you respond to an AC emergency in Forney, TX?
We prioritize urgent calls and aim to reach your home the same day whenever possible, including evenings and weekends when we can. Call 469-728-7113 early in the day for the best chance at a same-day slot.
What SEER rating should my new AC system have?
Forney, TX summers are extreme, so a SEER2 rating of 15 or higher is recommended for new installs. Higher-efficiency systems lower monthly bills, and we’ll calculate the payback for your home.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. Wells Fargo financing is available on qualifying installations, so you can get the right system today without a high-interest card. Ask us for current terms.
What AC brands do you install and service?
We’re an authorized Goodman dealer and also service all major brands, including Lennox, Trane, Carrier, Daikin, Bryant, American Standard, and Mitsubishi.
If my air conditioner needs replacing, is the labor under warranty?
On qualifying systems, yes. A covered repair in year seven costs no labor, and the manufacturer’s 10-year parts protection runs alongside. We register the equipment for you and point out the qualifying options on your quote. Terms, maintenance requirements, exclusions, and eligibility apply.
