Is Lexany's Heating & AC a Goodman Dealer?
Yes. We sell, install and repair Goodman.
Lexany's Heating & AC, an authorized Goodman dealer in Forney, TX, has repaired and installed home heating and cooling systems since 2011. More of our installs carry the Goodman badge than any other, so we know its parts, its paperwork and its quirks.
Already have a Goodman that someone else put in? We fix those too. And if your system wears another badge, we work on most other major brands as well.
Daikin Owns Goodman and Builds It in Waller, Texas
Goodman has changed owners three times since it began. Each change left a mark on the label, the warranty papers or the parts that fit your system.
| Year | What Happened |
|---|---|
| 1975 | Harold Goodman founds the business. Its first product is flexible duct, not air conditioners. |
| 1982 | Goodman Manufacturing starts building complete heating and cooling equipment. |
| 2004 | Apollo Management, a private equity firm, buys the company. |
| 2008 | Hellman & Friedman, another private equity firm, buys Goodman from Apollo. |
| 2012 | Daikin Industries of Japan closes a $3.7 billion deal, debt included. |
| 2015 | Ground breaks on Daikin Texas Technology Park in Waller, just outside Houston. |
Daikin kept the Goodman name and product lines after the 2012 sale. So a Goodman bought today is still sold, serviced and covered as a Goodman.
Newer warranty papers carry a Daikin company name. They still cover your Goodman, so file them with your home records.
Most new Goodman equipment is built at the Waller campus, which Goodman calls the largest HVAC building in the U.S. That plant sits a few hours' drive from Forney.
For a repair, though, the history matters less than what's printed on your unit's label. The section below shows how to read it.
Goodman Parts Are Easy to Find Around DFW
Goodman is one of the most widely sold brands in North Texas. So supply houses around Dallas–Fort Worth keep its common parts on the shelf. For you, that usually means a repair done in one visit, not a week of waiting on an order.
Japanese Owner, Texas Assembly Line
Goodman's parent company, Daikin Industries, is based in Japan, so the brand is Japanese-owned. Still, Goodman says its units are designed and assembled in the U.S.A. Whether a Goodman counts as American depends on whether you mean the owner or the factory.
What Goodman Makes for Homes
Every line below is one we can supply and fit as an authorized Goodman dealer in Forney. We also repair each one, no matter who put it in. Each row links to Goodman's own page, then to our service for that work.
Air Conditioners
Outdoor cooling unitsGoodman's current split-system air conditioners run on R-32 refrigerant, in single-stage and two-stage lines. A two-stage unit spends most of a summer day on its gentler low setting. Whether your Goodman air conditioner is new or a decade old, we handle air conditioner repair and new installs.
Heat Pumps
Cooling plus winter heatA Goodman heat pump moves heat out of your house in summer and back in during winter. On the coldest nights, electric heat strips in the indoor unit help it keep up. We handle heat pump repair and fit new Goodman heat pumps too.
Gas Furnaces
Burner-fired heatThe efficiency rating on Goodman gas furnaces sits right in the model name. A GR9S92, for example, turns 92% of its gas into heat for your home. When one won't light, our furnace repair visit tracks down why, and we also handle furnace replacement.
Air Handlers
The indoor cabinetOn an all-electric home, a Goodman air handler holds the blower, the indoor coil and the backup heat strips. If those strips burn out, a hard freeze can leave the house cold. That's why our electric furnace repair work so often starts at the indoor air handler.
Ductless Systems
One room at a timeGoodman ductless systems pair a slim wall unit with a small outdoor unit, so no ductwork is needed. They suit a back bedroom that never keeps up or a new addition built without ducts. We offer ductless mini-split repair and ductless installation for Goodman systems of any size.
Thermostats
Controls and Wi-FiGoodman sells its own temperature controls, and its higher-end systems talk to the thermostat over a data link instead of plain wiring. Pair one with the wrong thermostat, and some features stop working. We fit new thermostats and Wi-Fi models that match the Goodman you own.
Three Goodman Warranty Terms That Change Your Bill
Two Goodman systems can look identical and carry very different coverage. These three terms sit in the fine print. Each one decides whether a big repair is covered or comes out of your pocket.
Some Goodman Lines Replace the Whole Unit
The compressor is the pump at the heart of the outdoor unit. If it fails within 5 years on a registered GLXT7C, GLZT7C, GXV6S, GXV9S, GZV6S, GZV7S or GZV9S, Goodman sends a replacement unit. The single-stage GLXS and GLZS lines get parts coverage only.
The line you choose today decides what a dead compressor means in year four. On one line, it's a whole new unit. On another, it's a new part. So when two quotes differ only by model line, that gap is worth asking about.
Top Furnaces Add a 20-Year Heat Exchanger Term
Goodman's GRVM97, GDVM97 and GRVT96 gas furnaces carry a 20-year heat exchanger warranty plus 5-year unit replacement. The heat exchanger is the sealed metal box between the flame and the air you breathe. Goodman ties this coverage to annual maintenance.
If your Goodman furnace is one of these, keep the receipt from every yearly tune-up. Should the heat exchanger crack in year twelve, that record backs your claim. Our seasonal furnace tune-ups leave a dated record for your files, which also helps when you sell.
Registration Decides 5 or 10 Years of Parts
Goodman's parts warranty runs up to 5 years on its own. Register the system online within 60 days of installation, and it runs up to 10. California, Florida, Georgia and Quebec skip that step. Texas does not.
That 60-day window is easy to miss after a new build closes or a rushed swap. Texas also makes the coverage pass to the next owner on units installed from September 1, 2021. So a registered Goodman can be a selling point when you move.
Decode the Model and Serial on Your Goodman
Look for the label on the side of the outdoor unit or inside the furnace or air handler door. It carries two codes. The model number says what you own, while the serial number says when it was built.
The Model Number
GLZS4BA 36 10AAG is Goodman, and L marks an R-32 split system, one with an outdoor half and an indoor half. Z means heat pump, where an X would mean air conditioner. S means single-stage, and T would mean two-stage. Finally, 36 means three tons of cooling power.
The Serial Number
2302 XXXXXXThe first four digits of a Goodman serial number give the year and month the unit was built. So 2302 means February 2023. Goodman spells out this rule in its own warranty papers, which makes the serial the quickest way to date your system.
| Unit | How the Date Reads |
|---|---|
| Current Goodman equipment | Year, then month. Goodman's own example, 2610, means October 2026. |
| Units from 2019 onward | Federal recall notices list Goodman serials in this same year-and-month form. |
| Older units | Goodman hasn't said how far back the rule goes, so treat older dates with care. |
Why Online Decoders Give Two Different Years
Online decoders often disagree on older Goodman units. Some read the first four digits as year and week instead of year and month. Others apply letter codes from through-the-wall units. Only the year-and-month rule comes from Goodman's own documents, so that's the one we trust.
Snap a photo of the full label when you book, or read the numbers to us over the phone in English or Spanish. Our technician then arrives knowing your system's size and age, and can bring the parts it most likely needs.
Small Goodman Fixes Versus the Costly Ones
Most Goodman repairs in Forney are small parts on a system with years left in it. A few are not. Knowing which is which before the quote arrives saves a lot of worry.
Start with the everyday parts. A capacitor gives a motor its starting kick, and long Texas summers wear it out fastest. Contactors, the switches that start the outdoor unit, pit and stick. Fan motors tire, and drain lines clog with algae. A yearly air conditioner tune-up catches most of them.
The costly ones are fewer. A compressor is the most expensive part, so the warranty terms above matter here. An indoor coil has to be ordered, and fitting one takes hours. Control boards on higher-end systems are matched parts, whether the fault sits in a heat pump or a furnace.
One more check applies if your indoor coil sits on a gas furnace installed between January 2019 and November 2021. Its drain pan may fall under a 2022 CPSC recall, and the serial on the coil settles it.
Where R-410A Stands After EPA's 2026 Rule
Under the AIM Act, EPA capped the refrigerant in new home air conditioners and heat pumps from January 1, 2025. The cap is a global warming potential of 700, a measure of how strongly a gas traps heat. That's why new Goodman split systems moved to R-32.
A May 2026 EPA rule then dropped the deadline for installing R-410A equipment built before 2025. Still, no rule ever banned repairs. In fact, EPA confirms your R-410A system can keep being serviced.
Even so, EPA says supply may shrink over time. A shrinking supply tends to raise the price of a recharge on an older system.
When a Goodman Repair Still Pays
Use the year from your serial number to find your band below. These are where our technicians start the conversation, and what actually failed can move the answer either way.
Under 5 Years
Repair it. A Goodman this young is still inside its parts coverage. On the premium lines, a failed compressor even brings a whole new unit. Before quoting, we confirm the registration, so you're not billed for a part Goodman should pay for. Most fixes at this age are small.
5 to 10 Years
Usually repair. Registration matters most in this band. An unregistered system's parts coverage has just run out, while a registered one still has years left. A small part is money well spent. A coil or compressor failure, though, deserves a repair price and a replacement estimate side by side.
Over 10 Years
Price both options. By now Goodman's parts coverage has ended, and most systems this age run on R-410A. A well-kept unit can still earn a small repair. A major one, though, has less time left to pay itself back, so it's worth knowing what you're buying.
Whatever band you're in, Lexany's Heating & AC shows you both numbers before anything is ordered. There's no charge for an estimate on new Goodman equipment. After that, the choice stays with you, with no pressure either way.

Goodman Questions Forney Owners Ask
Is Goodman a good air conditioner brand?
For most homes, yes. Goodman keeps its designs simple and its prices fair, and it backs new systems with the warranty terms covered above. Like any brand, though, a Goodman only runs as well as it was sized and installed, so your contractor matters as much as the badge.
How long do Goodman air conditioners last?
Department of Energy figures put the average central air conditioner at about 21 years, counting every brand. A Goodman can reach that when it's sized correctly and tuned up each year. A unit that ran oversized or went years without service usually wears out well before then.
What does a blinking light on a Goodman furnace mean?
It's a fault code from the furnace's control board. Count the flashes, then check the chart inside the furnace door, which matches each count to a problem such as a pressure switch or ignition fault. Read us the count when you call, and we'll know where to start.
How do I reset my Goodman air conditioner?
Set the thermostat to off, then switch off the breaker for the outdoor unit and wait about five minutes. Turn the breaker back on, then the thermostat. If the system won't start or trips again, leave it off and call us, since a repeat trip means something has failed.
Can I reset the A2L sensor on my Goodman?
It's the refrigerant leak sensor on Goodman's R-32 systems. If it senses a leak, it shuts off heating and cooling but keeps the blower running to clear the gas. Instead of resetting it, leave the fan on and call us. A leak or a faulty sensor needs checking.
Where is the filter on a Goodman furnace?
It depends on how the furnace was installed. In most homes, the filter slides into a slot beside or below the blower cabinet, or sits behind a return grille in a wall or ceiling. If you can't find yours, ask our technician to show you on the next visit.
